Star Wars the way it was meant to be (and then some)

YouTube is replete with all kinds of Star Wars parodies and spoofs. A lot of them are pretty stupid and dirty, if not downright terrible. But every now and then, you get something pretty golden.

I hate Jar Jar just as much as the next person, and Gungans as a species I can barely tolerate. But if George Lucas had done the battle between the Gungans and the battle droids in this fashion in Episode One: The Phantom Menace, I don't think I would have complained.

Generally, I am not a fan of the movies during the MTV Movie Awards, but this one was pretty good, poking fun at our favorite emo Sith we all love to hate in Episode Three: The Revenge of the Sith. The only complaint I had was Padme's terrible acting. Oh wait - that was the real movie.

It's a sad fact that the Star Wars LEGO video games are better than the movies themselves. This one is made entirely with stop animation and Star Wars LEGO figures. The most impressive part of it may not be the stop animation (because, though a ridiculously tedious process, anyone with enough patience can do it) but the unique music composed just for this animation. It even has a slight John Williams-esque ring to it.

This one is a random Stormtrooper movie that closely resembles a Monty Python skit. Hilarious to watch. My roommate Colton informs me that Ebert coined the phrase "Stormtrooper Syndrome" in the movie industry, meaning you can't hit the broadside of a barn. I don't really doubt that phrase exists.

For some reason, movies about Stormtroopers are popular. The first one I saw was Troops, spoofing off of the famous show Cops. Perhaps it's because with Stormtroopers, we can make them much more normal and human, just like us, and give them real life problems. Like running a help desk. Or getting shot by rebel troops. Or, like the last movie coming up, dealing with unemployment.

*tear*

And now for something completely different!

This movie I found on accident on YouTube. I dedicate it to Kimberly and Troy - Kimberly for unearthing it (and because it's her favorite show), and Troy for propogating its tune within my head by singing it at least once a week.

Seriously, it's a really catchy tune. Too catchy.
