You don't see this kind of stuff every day

Last night, Dantzel and I walked hand in hand to our physical science class. Stopping at the corner of University Ave. and 960 North, waiting for the crosswalk to change so we could get on campus, I stared at the ground only to hear a ear-splitting screech. My head whipped up in time to see a blue Civic smash into a green car. The hood of the green car crumpled like tin foil, and green antifreeze started pouring out of the car like a flood. Immediately, the guy in the green car jumped out on his cellphone and walked briskly down the street to the parking garage next to us. We watched in bewilderment at his calm attitude and purposeful stride. But now that we were witnesses to the accident, we had to stay, missing the first thirty minutes or so of our class.

The girl in the blue Civic got out, shaking like a diabetic with low blood sugar, calling people and wrangling us as witnesses. The driver of the green car was nowhere to be found, and we soon discovered why.

"Oh," the policeman said after running the information found in his dashboard, "It's because we have nine warrants out for his arrest."

What a horrible thing to see, go through and walk away from. I hope they find him!
