Whenever President Benson would give a talk about how real secret combinations are in today's society, I would laugh uneasily, because I wanted to dismiss it as just paranoia.
But I am now convinced that health insurance companies are secret combinations. That, and possibly capitalism + health care.
They are one of the few industries I know who kill or hurt people in a serious physical manner on a daily basis just to make money.

what does the prez mention as an example of a secret society?
As far as my memory tells me, President Benson never went as far as to describe an example of a secret society.
However, according to the Book of Mormon, a secret society consists of several pretty significant features:
1. They are secret (duh)
2. Their main purpose is to get gain, whether power or money
3. They are willing (and usually prefer to) lie, cheat and kill to get what they want
