Ready, Set, Green Week One - online subscriptions

When we first moved into the apartment, a kid most BYU kids are familiar with walked to our door and sold us a Daily Herald subscription. As a media junkie, I had always made it my point to read a local newspaper, and Dantzel figured it was my chance to finally get a subscription.

So we did, and it went well for a while, until we read this suggestion in Ready, Set, Green:

"Cancel at least one print magazine or newspaper subscription this week or transfer it to digital mode. Start reading more online."

So we did. We canceled our Daily Herald subscription. Granted, we really never got around to reading it, and though the papers do make great worm food for our compost, Dantzel accumulates so much paper at work that it's almost inconsequential.

As Dantzel canceled the subscription, the lady asked her the reason why. "We're trying to be more eco-friendly!" she firmly declares. She later confided to me that it was quite the power rush to say so. In her own words:

"I'm savin' the environment, foo!"
