100 Different Ways to Draw Anime Eyes

Normally, I am very disdainful of American manga artists. Not that there aren't any out there that are good. But for the most part, they're not. BYU's art department absolutely refuses anime art as submissions for application and so forth because they get flooded (I'm sure) by a bunch of anime fans and Otaku who want to major in drawing anime and nothing else. The truth is, they rarely do their research and they don't learn any other forms of art to compliment and supplement their skills - rarely any great manga artist can only draw manga or only one style. So, rejected by the art department, those people major in Japanese instead ("Watch anime for credits!").

However, Mark Crilley, creator of Miki Falls, posted a video where he draws 100 different anime eyes in what I assume to be one sitting. This guy really knows his stuff. Not only are all the eyes different in style and expression, but he switches up mediums too - pens, inks, even watercolor and paints from time to time. The entire video is incredibly interesting to watch, especially when he finishes - you'll see what I mean.

Addendum: Yep, this guy knows his stuff and dispels the myth that if you copy Dragonball Z pictures over and over, you could eventually get published by TokyoPop.

Oh, and I just realized that Mark sounds like Pat Cashman...I have no idea if you or anyone will get this reference, but I figured I'd just throw it out there anyway
