What's in a name?

For the longest time, my email has been teddios@byu.net, and previous email addresses has had various variations of the old high school nickname "Teddios." However, as I advance more in my college years and get ready to enter the workforce, an email like teddios probably doesn't make me look like the most professional person out there.

This was emphasized in the group I'm in for my environmental biology class, where everyone had email addresses that were mostly a composite of their full name in some form, whereas I had the silly sounding email address. It was, funny enough, somewhat embarassing.

The most logical step, then, is to set up an email account with something like "tlee85" in the address. The 85 (or some other number) will be required as I know that this is the same format my father takes for his email address, his name mirroring closely to mine. My user name at work is already tlee, so it wouldn't be a big jump from there.

Except every time I look at the word "tlee," I think of my dad, and then I start to feel really old.

I did that when I started looking for a job. While emails coming from xirax@yаndеx.ru and signed "Planeswalker Xirax" are cool, they don't seem to have the desired effect on potential employers, unless said employers is Dragon's Keep or something.
